Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

The Chentangwu Fm is conformably overlying the Mengshan Fm [Not in current Lexicon. " The authors consider that the Mengshan Formation, which is below the Chentangwu Formation,is correlated with the lava pillow and spilite of the Shaoqiwa Formation in Lushan area." [Gao Linzhi and Ding Xiaozhong, 2013, Geol. Bull. China, 32: 988-995]. Regionally, the Chencai Gr (Xu'an Fm) would be the next older unit.

Upper contact

Its top part is a fault contact to Cretaceous sandstone.

Regional extent

The Chentangwu Fm is restrictedly distributed in Chentangwu, Pujiang County, Zhejiang Province.
